Established in 1940, Rickford Barnes is set apart from its local competitors by providing a high quality, independent service and very thorough eye examinations. Patients who have previously been elsewhere state that Rickford Barnes is the better option. Our staff are friendly and reliable and we are able to pass on to you the advantages of being independent: we are not tied to particular frame, lens, or contact lens stockists, so are better positioned to meet your requirements.

Patient care
Our commitment to patient care is reflected in the times we allocate for apointments: a normal appointment is 30 minutes, and we devote 40 minutes to new patients' first eye examination. We conduct thorough NHS and private examinations in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, taking the time to listen to your needs and to answer your questions.

Qualified Staff
In addition to our fully qualified and accredited optometric staff, we have qualified dispensers, registered with the General Optical Council, in all our locations. Our investment in qualified, experienced and educated staff means that you can be confident of our standard of service and of a result that is both professional and just right for you.
